About us
Gizem Turkeli Architects is an Istanbul-based architecture and design studio working across retail, workplace, residential and hospitality projects.
We take a holistic approach to design, bringing together architecture, interior design, product design and brand identity to create spaces that respond closely to the needs, character and context of each project. Our work ranges from individual interiors and bespoke environments to multi-location retail projects, often extending from concept and detailed design through construction documentation and on-site delivery.
Passionate about detail and inspired by everyday life, we aim to create distinct, thoughtful and enduring spaces regardless of scale. We believe each new project is an opportunity to rethink, refine and evolve our approach, while maintaining a consistent focus on proportion, material, craftsmanship and the way a space is ultimately experienced.
Gizem Türkeli
Gizem Türkeli graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, in 2010. She began her career at an established design office, working as a design architect on retail and residential projects of various scales. She later joined one of Turkey’s leading retail groups as an in-house architect, where she worked with several international high-end brands and delivered numerous stores across different regions worldwide. Building on these experiences, she founded Gizem Turkeli Architects in 2017.
Ugur Koç
Uğur Koç graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Interior Architecture, in 2008. With over 15 years of experience, he has worked across a range of design offices and interior architecture projects of different scales and typologies. Over the years, he has developed a strong focus on design development, detailing and project coordination. He joined Gizem Turkeli Architects in 2020, contributing to the studio’s retail, workplace and residential projects from concept development through to technical resolution and implementation.
